Understand the reasons and learn how to update it.
It's possible that a creator's profile picture in the IROIN® Influencer Marketing Suite isn't loading automatically or is out of date. There are several reasons for this, which you should be aware of to understand and resolve the situation. By taking the right steps, you can ensure that your influencer data always remains up-to-date and clear.
Possible reasons for missing profile pictures
A common cause is an incomplete connection to the profile. If the connection between IROIN® and the influencer profile isn't established correctly, the image may not load. Check the portfolio under "Overview / Channels" to see if the creator has a public profile and the necessary permissions have been granted—for example, through authentication via social media channels like Instagram or TikTok.
A common reason for missing data is a private profile. IROIN® cannot perform automated updates for private accounts because access is not permitted under GDPR guidelines.
For complete synchronization and analysis, the profile must be publicly accessible and managed as a business or creator account. This is the only way to provide and analyze the necessary insights.
Tip: If you see the yellow message “The channel is not a business or creator account” on the channel and the Connect button is disabled, it is a private profile.
IROIN® only analyzes profiles relevant for business exchanges – in full compliance with GDPR, of course.
Furthermore, profile pictures are only updated monthly by default. If a creator has changed their picture in the meantime, the new version will not be applied until the next cycle, which can lead to delays. Keep in mind that this timing is tied to our privacy-focused sync policy and cannot be accelerated automatically.
Perform manual update
You can easily update missing or outdated profile pictures yourself. Go to the portfolio, click on the creator's profile picture, and upload a recent image. This simple step ensures that the visual representation is always accurate and your team isn't using outdated information.
The combination of automated monthly updates and this manual option gives you full control over the currency of your influencer data. Use this flexibility to keep your database up-to-date, especially for important campaigns where recent profile pictures make a professional impression.
To avoid future issues, consider setting a recurring task in your team to check key profiles before major campaign launches. This helps ensure your content and partnerships always reflect your high quality standards.
