Why are no stories found even though they have been posted?

Learn what to do if stories are not recognized

Do you have an active campaign and are wondering why not all of your influencers' stories are visible—even though the accounts are correctly connected via IROIN® Connect and the content was posted within the last 28 days? Don't worry, there are several plausible reasons, and we'll show you what to look out for.

Check campaign settings

The first step: Check your campaign settings in the Campaigning module.
Pay particular attention to whether all relevant hashtags and mentions have been correctly entered. This information is crucial for IROIN® to correctly assign and record your creators' content.

If hashtags or mentions are missing – or are entered incorrectly – the platform will not recognize the content, even if the creator account is properly connected.

Instagram Mentions: Why Not Everyone Gets Recognized

Even if hashtags and mentions are correctly specified, content may still not appear. This is due to the way Instagram distributes mentions via the official Meta API.

Instagram distinguishes between two types of mentions in stories:

  1. Mentions via the story sticker

  2. Mentions as text within the story

Important to note: Mentions via the sticker (Type 1) are not transmitted via the API to third-party systems such as IROIN®. Only text mentions (Type 2) are recognizable and readable.

Our tip: Ask your influencers to always include the mention as text in the story. This is the only way the platform can reliably recognize it and assign it to your campaign.

In addition, an active connection must exist between the influencer and the IROIN® Suite so that this data can be transmitted.

If your influencers don't want to connect, ask your Customer Success Manager about the story tracking feature – there are suitable alternatives.

Were hashtags and mentions actually used?

A common case is when the hashtags or mentions were stored on the platform, but the influencers didn't include them in their stories. Even then, IROIN® can't recognize the content.

Ask your creators to correctly place the specified hashtags and mentions in their stories—ideally as text—to ensure maximum visibility and correct campaign attribution.

With our post approval process via Content Approval, you can ensure that all hashtags and mentions are always correctly included.
This feature helps you have content reviewed and approved in advance – including all campaign-relevant specifications.

What to do with co-authors or shared stories?

A special case concerns content originating from other accounts—for example, stories shared by co-authors. This content is not transmitted via the official Meta API because it was not created by the primary connected account. Therefore, IROIN® cannot automatically capture it, even if the story is visible to followers.

Our tip: If you want to ensure that this content is still included in your campaign evaluation, simply add it manually.

👉 Here you can find step-by-step instructions on how to create posts manually and upload the insights via the Screenshot Reader:
How can I manually add posts and additional insights to a campaign?

This way, you have all data clearly documented and can fully map your campaign performance – even with co-authored content.

And what if everything is correct – but nothing is displayed?

If you've checked all of the above points and stories are still not appearing, please contact our Customer Success team. We'll work with you to determine whether this is a technical issue or a data transfer failure—and help you quickly find a solution.
