Why are some posts with mentions not automatically recognized?
Reasons for the lack of automatic tracking of posts despite existing mentions
If you notice that some @mentions are not displayed in your campaign analysis in the IROIN® Influencer Marketing Suite, this is due to technical limitations: IROIN® can only record mentions that were inserted directly into the text of a post on Instagram or TikTok. Mentions that are embedded as stickers or in images are not machine-readable by the platform and are therefore not automatically recognized.
Instagram distinguishes between two types of mentions: mentions via the sticker and mentions in the text. IROIN® accesses the available data via the official Meta API, but Meta does not release information about mentions in stickers. For this reason, detection only works if the @mention is directly in the text. To ensure that the mentions are recorded, you should ask influencers to include the mention in the text instead of using it as a sticker.
What to do if mentions are not recognized?
If an expected mention doesn't appear in your analysis, there are several possible reasons and solutions. First, check whether the mention was added as a sticker—such graphic mentions cannot be captured in Instagram Stories or posts. In this case, ask the influencer to insert the @mention directly into the text so that IROIN® recognizes it. Another reason could be that the influencer profile isn't actively connected to IROIN®. Without an active connection, the platform doesn't have access to the influencer's data, and mentions won't be captured. Check the connection and make sure data retrieval is enabled.
What helps with technical problems?
Sometimes there are technical delays or API limitations that prevent mentions from being recognized immediately. In such cases, wait a few hours and check whether the mention has been subsequently recorded. If the mention is missing despite all measures, you can check it manually by viewing the posts directly on Instagram or TikTok. This way, you maintain control over your influencer marketing and ensure the accuracy of your campaign evaluation in the IROIN® Influencer Marketing Suite.
