Can I add influencers to a blacklist?

Learn how to specifically exclude creators or set a warning signal to keep track

Managing a growing influencer database means not every profile will be a match—some creators may show unreliable behavior, violate campaign agreements, or receive negative client feedback. To avoid repeating past mistakes and ensure consistent quality, the IROIN® Influencer Marketing Suite offers a dedicated warning feature that works like a blacklist. It helps you clearly mark problematic creators and alert your team before they’re considered for future campaigns.

Why blacklisting matters in influencer management

A single mismatched collaboration can jeopardize brand reputation, cost time, and damage client trust. Especially in fast-moving or cross-functional teams, clear documentation and consistent communication about who should not be contacted are essential. Without a system to flag risks, the same creator may be contacted again by mistake—resulting in confusion or even conflict.

The blacklist (warning) function in IROIN® ensures that excluded influencers are clearly marked, making them instantly recognizable to all team members and easily avoidable in outreach or planning workflows.

How the blacklist function works

You can mark influencers in the IROIN® Influencer Marketing Suite using a warning function to exclude them from future campaigns. This blacklist function helps you manage specific profiles and avoid misunderstandings or unwanted collaborations. It gives you control over your portfolio and ensures that only suitable creators are considered for your projects.

Here you'll learn how to use the warning function specifically – and in just a few steps, ensure that conspicuous profiles are clearly marked and immediately recognizable for your team.

Step-by-step: Add a warning

To add a warning, open the portfolio in the IROIN® Suite, where all your influencer profiles are centrally stored. Select the relevant creator and check the "Add warning" box to clearly mark the profile—immediately visible to you and your entire team.

Add Portfolio Warning Blacklist

You can choose from predefined options, such as:

  • "Do not book!"

  • "Do not contact!"

  • "Do not disclose real name to clients!"

If these options aren’t specific enough, you can add your own details under "Reason"—for example: "Negative feedback from clients" or "Unreliability in content delivery."

Create blacklist using warnings. This flexibility ensures your team understands the decision and acts accordingly. Once applied, the warning is displayed via a red warning triangle next to the influencer’s name.

Additional recommendations for use

To ensure consistency and transparency:

  • Standardize your warning categories across the team

  • Always add a brief note explaining the reason for the flag

  • Review flagged profiles regularly to keep your data up-to-date

This documentation helps prevent misunderstandings—especially when new team members join your workspace—and ensures that blacklisted influencers don’t slip back into your planning processes.

Additional protection: Block specific email addresses

In addition to the warning, you have the option to block specific email addresses. This is especially helpful when you're contacting multiple creators in bulk. As of March 24, 2025, creators with a warning cannot yet be hidden from the portfolio by default. So during large-scale mailings, warned profiles might still appear.

To avoid this, activate the “Do not contact” checkbox in their contact profile. This ensures that these influencers are automatically excluded from future mailings—without requiring manual checks each time.
