The IROIN® Influencer Marketing Suite offers a powerful social listening tool with the Relations feature that helps you conduct competitor analyses. Relations analyzes publicly available Instagram feed posts from the past six months and categorizes mentions into organic mentions (genuine, unpaid mentions), sponsored content (paid collaborations), and unpaid advertising (commercial context without sponsorship disclosure). A screenshot in the Relations Report displays dots that mark mentions, e.g., from January to February, and shows which profiles have mentioned your brand or competitors. This helps you identify authentic partnerships and uncover untapped potential.

How to analyze competitors with Relations

Relations allows you to specifically examine networks. You can see which influencers have mentioned or collaborated with your competitors and identify which brands are active. The report highlights collaborations and provides insights for building strategic partnerships. Currently, Relations is only available for Instagram feeds, as Stories cannot be archived due to GDPR. Use this report to expand your social media strategy and optimize your campaigns by focusing on successful networks.

Further competitor analysis with IROIN®

In addition to Relations, you can use the Discovery and Analysis features, though they don’t provide a direct overview of competitor collaborations. However, they still allow you to gain deeper insights such as:

  • Identifying creators: Enter hashtags or competitor brand names, e.g., “#CompetitorProduct,” into Influencer Discovery. The mentions filter will show influencers who have mentioned these brands.

  • Content and engagement analysis: Review creators’ content (Reels, Stories) and metrics (likes, shares) to identify success factors.

  • Audience insights: Analyze audiences with Discovery Reports and avoid overlaps thanks to audience overlap analysis.
