How do I set up Mandrill with my own domain in IROIN®?
Learn how to send emails professionally with Mandrill
The IROIN® Influencer Marketing Suite allows you to use the Mandrill app to efficiently send emails to influencers. By default, the app is configured with the iroin.io domain, but you can set up your own domain to make your communication more personal and professional. With just a few steps, you can configure Mandrill smoothly and ensure that your emails are trustworthy and successfully delivered.
The integration with Mandrill offers many advantages: you can send personalized emails through your own domain, creating a professional impression with influencers. Correctly configured DNS records significantly improve email deliverability, and the intuitive Mandrill app interface makes the setup process straightforward.
Add your domain and set up DNS records
In the IROIN® Influencer Marketing Suite, go to the Mandrill App section, which you can find under Settings / Messaging / App. There, you can add your own domain by adjusting the configuration.
Simply enter your domain and save the changes.
⚠ Note:
You must be the owner of the domain and have administrative access. Otherwise, the following steps cannot be completed.
Next, you need to add specific DNS records in your domain settings to ensure that your emails are not marked as spam.
Click on “Generate DNS Records.” Here, you will see all the entries that need to be added to your domain settings.

-
Confirm Domain Access
We need to verify that you have access to the TXT records of your domain.
Create a TXT record in your domain’s DNS settings with the following value:
mandrill_verify.123456abcdef
-
Enable DKIM (Email Authentication)
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) ensures that emails sent on your behalf are secure and not marked as spam.
Create two CNAME records in your DNS settings:
Name: mte1._domainkey.DOMAIN.com
Value: dkim1.mandrillapp.com
Name: mte2._domainkey.DOMAIN.com
Value: dkim2.mandrillapp.com
-
Enable DMARC (Protection Against Email Fraud)
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) helps protect your emails and improves deliverability.
Create a TXT record with:
Name: _dmarc.DOMAIN.com
Value: v=DMARC1; p=none;
-
Enable SPF (Define Authorized Senders)
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) specifies which servers are allowed to send emails for your domain.
Create a TXT record with:
Name: deinedomain.com
Value: v=spf1 include:spf.mandrillapp.com ~all
Once all the previous steps have been completed, click on “Test DNS Settings”.
If all entries are set correctly, this will be indicated by a checkmark in the corresponding column.
Adjust the Return-Path Header and Benefit from Improved Deliverability
For even better email deliverability, you can optionally set the Return-Path header to your own domain. To do this, go to the Mandrill settings and configure the header accordingly – this increases the trustworthiness of your emails and helps them land more frequently directly in recipients’ inboxes.
If you need assistance with the configuration, the IROIN® support team is always available to help you optimize and secure your email communication.
